(January 15, 2009) - Brian Mandell-Rice, Partner-in-Charge of the Denver office, and Jim Brendel, National Director of Audit Quality, spoke at the January 15 Professional Development Session of the Colorado Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). The presentation, given at the Denver Country Club, focused on fair value accounting and the new accounting pronouncements related to business combinations and non-controlling interests, a topic of timely importance given that adoption of SFAS 141R and SFAS 160 is required for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2008. In addition, the pair also discussed application and implementation of SFAS 157, including difficulties and current observations.
