Tax Partner Alison Dunnebecke Featured in Denver Woman magazine!
(April 28, 2009) - In the April/May 2009 edition of Denver Woman, Tax Partner Alison Dunnebecke is featured in the article entitled "Woman in Accounting," which focuses on how challenging work and more flexible workplaces are attracting a growing number of women to the profession. It highlights four local females who have excelled in the accounting sector, including Dunnebecke.
Dunnebecke was a Tax Manager at Hein & Associates LLP thirteen years ago when she started her family. Alternative work arrangements were a new concept to the profession then, and faced with a complicated second pregnancy, Dunnebecke was ready to hand in her resignation, thinking she would have to make a choice between career and family. But as the article explains, "It was actually the male partners in the firm who suggested an alternative part-time work arrangement."
Dunnebecke found the career/family balance she sought, but not without feeling the pressure to prove, for the sake of those working mothers who came after her, that such an arrangement could be successful. She explains that it also helped to create much loyalty to the firm, where alternative work arrangements are now more accepted than ever. Dunnebecke made Partner in 2005.
