Irvine Partner-in-Charge Named to Philanthropic Boards
(June 1, 2009) - Scott Appel, Partner-in-Charge of the Irvine office of Hein & Associates LLP, was recently named to the Board of Directors of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County as well as the Founders Board of the Mission Hospital Foundation, both non-profit organizations.
"Both of these organizations do such important work for our community," says Appel. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve them."
CASA trains community volunteers to serves as powerful mentors and advocates for the community’s most severely abused, abandoned, and neglected children who, for their own protection, have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care. According to CASA’s website, “the unique one-on-one relationship that forms between the volunteer and the dependent child is often the only stable, positive relationship the child has.
Appels second Board position, The Mission Hospital Foundation, assists the Mission Hospital in achieving its goals through philanthropy, building lifelong relationships with members of the community, and raising funds that support both the needs of the hospital and its patients.
