(July 22, 2008) - Megan McFarland, Audit Partner in the Dallas office, was recently featured in the Petroleum Accounting and Financial Management Journal. Her articled titled, "Current Developments in Financial Accounting and Reporting" covers the new SEC rule on oil and gas reserve reporting, the SEC roadmap to International Financial Reporting Standards, and the adoption of FASB 157 – Fair Value Measurements.
Megan has over 16 years of professional experience and serves as the National Director of Energy Industry Practice Group for Hein & Associates. She provides audit services for both public and private companies, as well as for partnerships, investment funds, and trusts. Megan specializes in Securities and Exchange (SEC) reporting and has significant experience assisting companies with the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (SOX 404) internal controls and reporting. As a former assistant controller, Megan understands the demands of business managers and ensures the audit team makes the most efficient use of a client’s time.
