HEIN & ASSOCIATES LLPThis summer brings new legislation on everything from health care to hiring family members. The IRS has been very active, with plans to continue to react to the myriad new legislation being passed. On the legislation front, there has been legislation ranging from estate tax to job stimulus. Next, we examine some situations to either remain with your employer for retirement planning, or convert to an IRA. Finally, we examine how the HIRE act affects hiring family members. Legislative Activity

Retirement Planning Considerations and an Update

A topic on the mind of many retiring workers is whether to leave money in a former employer’s 401(k) plan, or roll it over to an IRA. A number of employers have not permitted former workers to roll over funds until the funds have been in a plan for a number of years.
